Sometimes the hardest thing to do is forgiving ourselves for our past. Most people might think it’s apologizing to others but it’s not. Some of the hardest things to deal with are those things we battle in our minds when we’re left with the silence of just us and our thoughts. This is one reason why a lot of people choose to take some sort of substance whether it be drugs or alcohol. We try to cover up the things we don’t want to think about. But instead of trying to mask some of those hurtful things we should embrace them. Healing only comes when we can acknowledge the things that hurt us. Whether it’s something that happened to you or something you’ve done to someone else. Forgive yourself and allow yourself to start the healing process. Remember Jesus died for our sins so that we would be forgiven. Who are we to try to undo what he died for by not forgiving others or ourselves. We all have fallen short, but the awesome thing about God is he has already forgiven us. So be encouraged and ask God to heal those broken places. Have a blessed day!
Galatians 2:20-21 New Living Translation (NLT)
20 My old self has been crucified with Christ.[a] It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.
